Some of the widely used social media channels are Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Twitter, WhatsApp, Snapchat etc. which has positively impacted personal interactions. Now people can reconnect with old school mates, lost friends and family from the click of a button on your mobile phone or laptop thus making the world a global village. Also, information can be shared globally on any of the social media platforms with ease.
The creation of the internet has been one of the most important technological developments in communication. Via email, instant messaging, and social media platforms, people may now interact quickly and from any location in the world. This has enabled the exchange of knowledge and ideas among organizations, governments, and people regardless of location.
Technology has also made communication faster and more efficient. No matter where they are, anyone may collaborate online and communicate in real-time using tools like video conferencing.
Those with disabilities or linguistic problems can now communicate more successfully thanks to technology. Everyone can now communicate and take part in conversations thanks to tools like text-to-speech software, and translation apps.
But, communication has also faced some difficulties as a result of technology. For instance, using digital communication can occasionally result in misunderstandings or misinterpretations since it can be challenging to effectively transmit tone or intention virtually. Also, the constant availability of communication through technology can lead to a feeling of information overload or fatigue. Therefore, it’s crucial to be aware of how technology affects communication and to take action to counteract these effects by prioritizing face-to-face engagement and using technology sparingly.
Generally speaking, communication and technology have a complicated relationship, and as technology develops, so will interpersonal communication.
In conclusion, technology has in various ways affected interactions positively with its continuous advancement and also breaking boundaries in connecting people thus making communication very easy and seamless.
