It is exam week at the Lagos Business School and it has been a roller coaster ride.
I was on a trip 2 days before the start of the exam and all I could think of was getting back on time to write these exams. The flight was on Thursday, and I was excited about coming home. Unfortunately for me, it has been a downward turn from there.
First, shortly when I was setting out for the trip, there was an episode, and had to be limping through the journey to the airport, but I thought nothing should stop me from getting in to write my exams. Little did that was the least of my worry. Just as I was boarding and about to take off, I realized I had forgotten my phone in the restroom. This is turning out to be a nightmare.
My real moment
My phone has just been misplaced, wow, just as I was about to board. How do I contact the family I left behind? How do I contact the person waiting to pick me up at the airport upon arrival? Traveling with two kids, how do I fare with them on a night flight? All these questions ran through my mind without a response. It was traumatizing to think of. As I was in the plane, all I could think of was hope for the best. The phone is still missing anyways.
And it was the exam day, shattered from a rough trip, I realized I needed my phone for quite a number of details for the exam. Thankfully, I had my WhatsApp opened on my laptop prior to the exam so I have to make do with that.
My exams so far
The accounting exam was fair… I was a lot apprehensive before the exam and after the exam, I thought I had a fair chance of fighting for some marks.
ABP exam…. Wow, so much to express but so little to say. Looking forward to scaling through by God’s grace.
In preparation for Data Analysis and Management Communication, I will try to dedicate more time to studying. Combining official duties and exam is one of the hardest things for me and I have just learned my lessons. Going forward, I will have to take out some days to study.
Thank you to all my amazing classmates for working really hard to organize an extra class for people like us that need them in some of the courses.
Next Steps for me
My next steps will be to concentrate on learning data analytics which is the science of analyzing raw data to make conclusions about that information. Many of the techniques and processes of data analytics have been automated into mechanical processes and algorithms that work over raw data for human consumption.
Understanding Data Analytics
Data analytics is a broad term that encompasses many diverse types of data analysis. Any type of information can be subjected to data analytics techniques to get insight that can be used to improve things. Data analytics techniques can reveal trends and metrics that would otherwise be lost in the mass of information. This information can then be used to optimize processes to increase the overall efficiency of a business or system.
