Mirzapur.

Written by Johnpaul Okoroafor · 1 min read >

Once again I want to use this opportunity to say welcome to another Movie night. It was all possible because of Ceasar, Slice 🥪 bread and Amazon prime. Ladies and Gentlemen Mirzapur!

Mirzapur is an Indian Action, Drama, and Crime movie.Bloody violence kinda looks cool when you see it an American movie, right?

That’s what you don’t see generally in an Indian movie. But in Mirzapur, you get all the good stuff. Mirzapur is actively shouting “Uhh, hey I’m Kickass action why haven’t you watched me yet”. Violence is so graphic and really gory(like lots of bloody, you get the point), that kinda makes you feel like they want you to shit yourself. Its a gangster movie but some unexpected deaths make the movie feel likea horror movie. Goddamn!

This show is really gripping from start to finish. And like all gangster movies, every decision and action has its consequences and benefits. Not to mention the constant effect on the future. This show centers on how two brothers were faced with a life and death situation; they stared into the abyss and didn’t flinch. And that was their baptism of fire into the life of crime. Now working for the biggest crime family that runs the town, and an upright father who wants to rid the city of crime as a lawyer alongside a mother who doesn’t care as long as the money keeps flowing. The young heir to the Tripathi family is a loose cannon and he feels threatened by these.brothers.

This was when the abyss stared back at them and brought violence right to their doorstep. Quite a lot of stars are present in this show cos this ain’t your typical Indian show. Individuals such as Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Vikrant Massey, Shweta Tripathi, Harshita Gaur, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and loads more. This show is different from most of the television shows on Amazon prime. There is a gradual globalization of entertainment. It’s not enough to just export a culture but you must learn to import other cultures in order to compete for market share. Amazon prime is not naive to that fact, that is why the war for indigenous content is just beginning (don’t worry we would discuss this issues in another post). Anyway this isn’t the point of the post, I am just trying to entertain.

Happiness: A Unique Inside Job!
