My LBS Experience.

Written by Sylvia Anyaka · 1 min read >

Finally I am here at the Lagos business school, where I had always wanted to be as a young lady who wanted to go into the corporate world ,I was told it wasn’t going to be an easy journey by friends who were already undergoing their programs and also during the brush up sessions but I never felt it was going to be this intense remember during one of my brush up sessions I had a Time Management session where the facilitator told us that when running this program I wont have time for myself but I felt he was just trying to get me scared and also motivate me to put in my best to the program.

On a brighter note I have meet amazing people, which I am so happy about, one of my major reasons of coming for this problem was networking, I was heard of how LBS gave room to their students for networking, which is one of the things I wanted to gain from the program. LBS has indeed given me the opportunity to meet amazing people, the lectures are amazing people, and they are so smart I never for once thought I would have learnt any of the things, they had thought me in my entire life.

The program which I started in the last few months had thought me a lot of skills ,Public speaking is on of the skill I am so glad LBS has made  me develop, I used to be a great public speaker during my high school days, I could talk to any number of crowd without having any stage fright, but when I got to the University I didn’t have any opportunity to speak to people so I lost my public speaking skill. Coming to LBS I was made to offer a course in Management communication whereby I have been given roles to speak on .at first, I didn’t know how to start but with time I have been able to put my thoughts in order, learn how to engage my audience and learn how to control the energy in the room.

Indeed, LBS has been an overwhelming experience getting to leave my house every morning and having the knowledge at the back of my head that I come not coming home the same way I left. Each day I learn something new and that is what makes me happy know that I get result of the tuition fee I paid every day.

My stay in LBS as also though me some technical skills like the use of data programs like the R studio which is mostly used buy data analyst ,this days I now call my friends and tease them that I am now a jack of all trades ,I always say not only am I a Human resource Manger  I am now a Data Analyst ,Accountant, and a Public speaker .Yes it seems funny but it’s the honest truth if LBS should tell me today that the programme is over I have truly learnt a lot.

Happiness: A Unique Inside Job!
