Growing up as a child I was always taught to be my brother’s keeper, looking out for people around me and showing care to people that don’t have to be my family members. Knowing the need to be there for everyone else and not just myself is something I have come to leave with, and I have put into practice in my everyday life. Most of the successful people in the world are known to pull people around them up and not let them down .This simple act of looking out for everyone around you can be exhibited by just sharing joy to people around us making them happy and making them feel loved .When one is busy trying to build their self and be successful in life its easy to forget to consider if the other person around you is happy or also achieving for himself.
Ways to lift people around you up.
1.Be Encouraging-We can lift people around us up by encouraging them and motivating them in our little way for them to feel they can do it and having the can-do spirit in them.
2.Share Knowledge-We can motivate and lift each other up by sharing knowledge which is an example of what LBS is trying to teach us the students running an MBA by putting us in groups in other to share knowledge with each other, which would help us develop each other and improve ourselves.
3.Stay Humble-In other to encourage people around us we should be able to show signs of humility to people around us and not making them feel inferior, which would make them feel not loved and uncared for.
My Experience!!!
My stay in LBS during this last few months has shown me the need to be there for people around me ,I have also met some amazing people that have looked out for me like they had met me before which has really made me feel loved ,knowing that the MBA program is not an easy program doing it without love and care would have made me breakdown or think of dropping out of the MBA program ,but with the help of my amazing set of people I have met life has been less stressful.
Sometimes when we have had a long intensive week my amazing classmates try to share joy around, we also try as much as possible to help each other academically in courses we find difficult and are not catching up on for one reason or another, what can this be if not love and trying to lift each other up. LBS has also shown us the reason why we need to lift each other up by making sure we are in group which makes us share ideas showing that you cannot do it without helping others up, lifting others up has become a part of me that I have come to appreciate LBS to develop me more and helping me to understand that I don’t have to think about my own success alone but also that of my other colleagues .i have come to understand that we truly raise by lifting others up.
