Navigating my MBA experience at Lagos Business School has been a whirlwind, but not the disorienting kind. It’s been a lively, exhilarating ride, an emotional roller coaster shaping me into a future leader prepared to tackle the ever-evolving African business scene. Yet, this journey wouldn’t have been half as memorable without my incredible team.

This post is dedicated to my group team members. My Group 1 comrades aren’t just classmates; they’re a close-knit family. Beyond study partners, we’re friends, confidants, and each other’s biggest supporters. We celebrate victories, big and small, and offer a shoulder to lean on when times get tough. We’re a solid support system, a sounding board, and a perpetual source of laughter and inspiration.

Remember our Management Communications presentation? We nailed it, and credit goes to Omolade‘s steadfast leadership. She orchestrated our diverse strengths into a harmonious performance, turning our nervous energy into a presentation that was both informative and engaging. We were anxious, but Omolade’s confidence and encouragement helped us overcome our fears.

Then there’s ABP – Analysis of Business Problems. This course pushes us to our limits, throwing real-world business challenges our way. Luckily, our resident consultants, Egbe, Theo, and Anne, are always there to guide us. These three are the real deal – the Einsteins, the Picassos, and the Michael Jordans. I call them the “GOATS” because they consistently answer our questions, provide insights, and help us navigate the complexities of the course. They are the lighthouses steering us through the storm, ensuring a safe arrival on the other side. PS: Theo is married so no go area ladies!

Our class governor, Kehinde Williams, is like James Bond. This guy has mastered the art of work-life balance. He knows how to be serious and when to play. He’s the guy who cares about getting everyone’s grades up (class participation marks) while still making time for social functions, parties, and even basketball games with friends. A living testament that success doesn’t mean sacrificing your social life. He reminds us to take breaks, have fun, and enjoy the journey, not just the destination. The guy too sabi book too!

Chidi and Jefe are the comedians of our group, bringing laughter even amidst stressful deadlines. They inject a much-needed dose of fun and humour, reminding us that life is too short to be overly serious. Incredibly supportive, always ready to go the extra mile to help others in need – the friends you can always count on. Their girlfriends would be enjoying wherever they are!

While Oseme and Amaka may not be the first to raise their hands in class, their quiet demeanour masks hidden talents. Oseme possesses an angelic voice that could soothe even the most troubled soul, while Amaka’s infectious smile has the power to rival the sun’s warmth. When Oseme speaks, her words flow eloquently and clearly, leaving a lasting impression on everyone around her. When Amaka smiles, her infectious positivity is like a beacon of light, brightening the day of everyone around her. These two may be quiet, but their talents speak volumes.

And then there’s Ibukun, the “King of Chop Life gang.” Man is literally living his best life while running an MBA at the most prestigious school in Africa. He’s too intelligent to be overlooked. Don’t be deceived; he too sabi book. He’s another spy in the James Bond franchise.

These individuals are more than just colleagues; they’re my family. They’ve made my MBA journey so fulfilling. Together, we’re not just navigating challenges; we’re learning, growing, and collectively shaping the future of business in Africa.

To my amazing Group 1 team, thank you. You guys are the real MVPs. I wouldn’t be the same without your support, encouragement, and friendship. Sorry I don’t have pictures of everybody 🙂

Happiness: A Unique Inside Job!
