4-1

This weekend Is one weekend I can bet I will remember quickly. You may be wondering what the title is about. MMBA4 beat the MMBA5 4 goals to 1 in a football match. Am I in pain? NO!. Moving on.

The sports event, organized over the weekend, was fun-filled and an avenue to wind up a little after the hustle and bustle of the week. It was an event I looked forward to because it would allow me to bond more with my cohort members and meet members of other cohorts.

The main event was the football match, which received much support from members of the various competing cohorts. There were a lot of banters here and there about who will win and which cohort is capable of displaying exceptional talent. Participants were indeed ready to have fun.

Before the commencement of the football match, there was a little meet and greet, nothing too serious. Participants learned at least each other’s name, and the football match started.

The football match between the MMBA4 and MMBA5 indeed displayed many talents. Players were seen to be showing various football skills, and the ones that just added to the number of players tried their best. Despite these multiple displays of football power, MMBA5 was still beaten and given an official welcome to the LBS football field. But the exciting thing was that we lost our grace and pride. At least we scored a goal and made sure players from MMBA4 felt our impact. Members of the supporters association of each cohorts also made sure the out shouted each other and continued to cheer their players on. Some even almost entered the football field out of excitement and I must confess players from the MMBA4 cohort showed a great deal of sportsmanship, which goes a long way to show the effect of discipline and oneness which is being instilled in participants during MBA program. But 4-1, though. It is well. The Sports event proved the saying, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” Again, people had fun. I just discovered LBS’s intentionality in encouraging participants to come together, have fun, meet, connect, and share ideas in a more relaxed setting and sports event, even though it wasn’t all that elaborate. It was indeed successful, and the goal was achieved. There was a lot to eat and drink and even extra for takeaway. Just like a famous line in Yinka Ayefele, a highlife musician’s song, which translated in English, “You will eat to your fill, and you will also take home,” that is precisely what happened because I packed extra drinks and our social secretary still said I should come for more.

Again 4-1. I am not pained because we tried. There will always be another opportunity to redeem ourselves, even if not with the MMBA4 cohort. Still, we will shine and take our revenge on any other cohort. What out for MMBA5 in any competition in LBS. Shout out to our coach Holi Moli.
