The entirety of Human Persons, summarizes that men are wired differently, and it should not be assumed that man’s response to actions is universal. Models are good and helps for a systematic way of reasoning but should not limit us. Man as a person cannot be fully understood.
The view of human nature, provides a basic standard which we can use, to critically assess other theories or views we may come across.
The course about human persons provides us with the fundamental common sense needed to guide our practical deliberations when confronted with real life problems in working as managers where ever we are.
Human beings are not purely rational agents. Our emotions play a critical role in determining our behavior and must always be taken into account when trying to predict human actions. Developing the right emotion is an essential aspect of personal and professional development.
Emotions, do not control human beings but men have the power of free choice which helps us act contrary to strong emotions. To become better persons, we need to engage the power of free choice. This will help to achieve personal and professional development.
At the same time, the use of freedom sharpens the character of man. By choosing in intelligent ways, and endeavoring to develop the right emotions, man acquires virtues which help him act intelligently and professionally. Our intelligence and not sentiments or emotions should play leading directive role in our lives.
The benefit of freedom, is that it helps man to be authors of what they do and the outcome if positive, gives a sense of fulfilment and if negative, gives a sense of guilt.
Man is a social being that thrives on inter relationships, bonding, societal connections and community living. Therefore, belonging to supportive communities Is important for human beings. These communities can be church, mosque, associations, mutual benefits club, etc.
There are two important requirements for man to achieve fulfilment in life.
- Focus on aspects of that fulfilment. If a Person loves music, it is advisable that you still become part of anything that has to do with music. Even if your current career if from music, being involved in music one way or another, keeps the soul going and having a sense of fulfilment.
- Do not restrict your concerns to your own narrow individual interest. This is the act of selflessness, charity, empathy and a continuous activity of giving meaning to the lives of your fellow man kind.
Human beings are not just highly evolved animal, but also spiritual beings with abstract knowledge and free choice that are radically superior to other animals. The human being has a will intellect and affectivity. All these works together to bring about the superiority of man. As a result of this, each human should be treated with respect, dignity, equity and fairness. No human should be treated as a means to other people’s purpose, otherwise, the end result will boomerang. Afterall, we have just learned that the human being has free choice.
