Written by David Adoghe · 1 min read >

The Lagos Business School is known for its prestigious brand and vibrant community that spans beyond the shores of the African continent. Situated in the economic heartbeat of the country, Lagos, Nigeria. She is famous for churning out graduates (managers) market ready to effect change in their various industries.

Despite topping the wish list of every young African, only a few can access her services through a rigorous assessment process that grants the qualified, a placement in their listed preferred program.

I wanted a program that grants me the opportunity to experience a structured learning different from previous experiences in a Nigerian public university, the Lagos Business School ticks all my boxes.

I love pursuing learnings that afford me great flexibility in today’s multidisciplinary world

Being interested in a variety of learnings, I find the MBA program a starting point to relaunch my career, yet providing the flexibility and a background needful for any business clime. Cash, they say, is king, and businesses needs managers that understand its flow and can rightly steer a ship on the right path.

Considering various alternatives to the LBS, I arrived at a junction where I requested help from my friends and managers on the various schools in consideration. The Lagos Business School stands tall and grants me an opportunity to understand the business nature of the African continent being unique from the world, and the business survival which scatters various expectations from the investors.

Let’s take a breather here

Was I frightened when I got the information about the entrance exam? Of course, I was sore afraid.

Haven left my books for the gain of industry knowledge and the constraint of time to prepare, I was greatly helped by my friends who believed in my candidacy for the program. The interview process was fluid, the conversation revolved around the world affairs, which was quite easy as we had just come out from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Welcome back!

Exposure to the LBS culture was quite a shock as I went through a relearning, unlearning and learning phase, this is still an ongoing process and my vessel is currently undergoing remodelling. Right from the entrance to the school, the reception was warm, and it was one of the best I have witness in Nigeria, so filled with compassion and empathy.

The method of teaching exceeded my expectations as it was an unfamiliar terrain with the case study method, though challenging, but it’s rewarding. I have been challenging my thinking process and found it necessary to think on my feet.

It can only get better!

This is my starting point, a heart yearning for new experiences that will cause the walls within to crumble and give rise to an open collective space ready to change the world.

‘Laughs in Prof Bongo’s voice’

The Lagos Business School is instilling her values in me, and I’m glad I’m in this journey.

My life has begun a new trajectory.

What is your story, I would love to hear your thoughts on your LBS journey?
