Juggling work and the MBA

how I felt this week

The past month has been ‘wonderful’ as I embarked on the journey of getting an MBA. Truthfully, I did not think it was going to be this difficult . That does not go to say that I felt like it was going to be a walk in the park but maybe something less stressful 😒😏

The just concluded INTENSIVE week was the Zenith of my exhaustion. I honestly was not prepared for anything like it. It was indeed intense. At some point, I even thought of giving up and running away🤣🤣

I understand that coping with an MBA program while working can be really challenging for a lot of us, so I decided to share some strategies I have thought of to help me moving forward. I believe that with the right strategies, it is possible to manage both responsibilities( or at least make them work ).

How i feel most times….
  1. Create a schedule: Make a schedule that includes all of your work and MBA program commitments. Include time for studying, attending classes, completing assignments, and other activities. Stick to your schedule as much as possible(Discipline is a key factor here)
  2. Prioritize your tasks: Identify the most important tasks and complete them first. This will help you stay on track and avoid falling behind.
  3. Stay organized: Use tools such as calendars, to-do lists, and task managers to stay organized and track your progress. This will help you stay on top of your responsibilities and avoid missing deadlines.
  4. Manage your time effectively: Use your time wisely by avoiding distractions and focusing on your tasks. You can also break larger tasks into smaller ones and work on them in smaller increments to make them more manageable.
  5. Seek support: Reach out to your classmates, lecturers, and colleagues for support when you need it. You should also maximise your study group or seek help from a tutor or mentor.( Might be my strongest point because I love that my classmates reach out to support one another and this has calmed me a great deal).
  6. Take care of yourself: Make sure you get enough sleep, eat healthy, and exercise regularly. This will help you stay focused and energized, and reduce stress levels.

7. Stay motivated: Remember why you started the MBA program and stay focused on your goals. This will help you stay motivated and overcome any challenges you may face.

  • Remember to be patient with yourself, and don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it.

By following these tips, you and I can successfully cope with an MBA program while working. I understand that most of these tips might not happen naturally or as fast as we want but I hope that we can always work on them patiently till we get used to them.

I am definitely trying them out… I hope they make a significant change in how I currently feel…..

Happiness: A Unique Inside Job!
