Lunch Time at Lagos Business School

Written by Tolulope Sofela · 1 min read >

I recently commenced my Master’s in Business Administration at Lagos Business School and I am aware that many individuals are naturally curious about the curriculum, atmosphere, faculty members, and more. However, there is a noteworthy aspect that I believe deserves attention; one which alumni may not have previously mentioned to you. The tea and lunch breaks! It may seem like a trivial part of the program, but these breaks are more valuable than might be expected.

The learning environment at Lagos Business School is pleasant and inviting, allowing students to take necessary breaks between lectures however, my favourite part of the day is undoubtedly Tea Break and Lunch Breaks, during which I enjoy a delectable selection of pastries, sandwiches, fruits, and coffee – all suited to varying student preferences. The most remarkable aspect? These scrumptious snacks come at extremely affordable prices! With an extensive buffet offering limitless options without breaking the bank – it is hard not to be pleased with this arrangement.

Moreover, during these brief intermissions, students get to network with each other and engage in casual conversations. These interactions facilitate the creation of lasting relationships with classmates which can be instrumental in developing personal and professional connections long after graduation.

Not only do these breaks provide physical sustenance, but they also serve as mental intermissions allowing students to decompress and discuss the topics covered during lectures in a relaxed and informal setting.

I find it incredibly friendly and therapeutic to step away from the classroom setting and enjoy a delicious snack while socializing with my colleagues. There are two breaks taken at different times during the lectures; the Tea Break takes 30 minutes while the Lunch Breaks takes 35 minutes.

The lunch breaks which last for 35 minutes, are particularly wonderful as they offer an array of wholesome foods such as piping hot pepper soup, fresh salads bursting with flavour, a tantalizing mix of proteins and mouth-watering rice dishes that never fail to delight my taste buds. Not only do these meals nourish my body with healthy ingredients but they also provide me with much-needed camaraderie during busy workdays.

It also saves students the time of having to leave the campus in search of what and where to eat during these breaks as everything has been provided within the campus.

To be honest, while it may not have been explicitly stated by former students, the socializing that occurs during tea and lunch breaks at Lagos Business School is crucial to creating a welcoming atmosphere for learning. Delicious meals and shared anecdotes lead to stimulating discussions among peers. Students with shared food preferences or interests also confirmed to have found this as a great way of bonding with colleagues.

In conclusion, while Tea and Lunch Breaks may seem insignificant to some people, they offer students much-needed downtime during the intense MBA program which contributes to the overall Lagos Business School experience. This has definitely contributed to mine and I wish to recommend this as another aspect to look forward to for future prospects of the School.
