For a very long time, philosophers have believed that one of the most fascinating aspect is that there is a connection between the will, the intellect as well as the sensitive dimensions of man. Humans are complex creatures with many aspects which interact and influence one another to create the experiences we have. Our sensory and emotional experiences make up our sensitive dimensions, whilst the intellect and the will are both necessary elements of our cognitive and decision-making processes. The importance of this complex interaction is on the rise especially for a prosperous company in its relation with its community. This interplay, however, is not limited to the business world but also personal lives of all humans.
In the world of business, intellect is a crucial element as it gives an individual (or individuals) the ability to make sound judgments (through reasoning and understanding), optimal decisions and deal with challenging situations. It is that which enables an individual to analyze information, assess danger, and strategize for what is ahead. That is, to logically and critically evaluate the environment we are in. An individual’s intellectual pursuits may also be an influencer their belief and value systems, which can then influence actions taken and decisions made. On the other hand, if an individual desires to excel in any business more than intellect is required. A strong will, perseverance, is also required. It is what gives individuals the power to act on beliefs, objectives and intentions.
People are propelled by their desire to carry out their choices and to keep going in the face of adversity by their will. When there is a lack of a strong will, even the brightest individuals may not be able to accomplish their set goals. A person’s will is the motivator which drives them by the taking of risks, making of sacrifices, and putting in a lot of effort to accomplish their goals.
A person’s sensitive dimensions also play a major role in how successful they are in business. This dimension allows individuals to feel pain, pleasure and a range of many other emotions in response to interactions with their environment and experiences. The sensitive dimension also influences decision making and value building. Building successful connections in the business world with clients, peers and colleagues requires a variety of abilities, which include empathy, emotional intelligence, and the ability to communicate effectively. It is crucial to be able to emotionally connect with others if an individual desires to create strong networks, partnership and relationships that endure a lifetime.
Conflicts and tensions can occasionally result from this interaction. For example, we may have conflicting values or beliefs that make it difficult to make decisions that align with our intentions. Similarly, our emotions can sometimes cloud our judgment and make it challenging to make rational decisions.
As an MBA student, it is an achieved realization that achieving success in business requires striking a delicate balance between the intellect, the will, and the sensitive dimensions of man. The intellect enables one to make informed decisions, the will drives one to act upon those decisions, and the sensitive dimensions of man enable one to build strong relationships and networks.
In conclusion, the interplay between the intellect, will, and our sensitive dimensions is a fascinating and complex aspect of our nature. Understanding how these dimensions interact can help us make more informed decisions and navigate the complexities of our experiences. By acknowledging the interplay between these dimensions, we can gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
