I could become a billionaire if I began to monetize every moment the term ‘critical thinking‘ has been used since I resumed my MMBA classes🤔. As I continue to reflect on it, I understand it is a way of emphasizing how crucial it is for us to comprehend the value of critical thinking and incorporate it into our daily lives. It is important to note that things are not always as they appear… just look a little closer to see what is not shown and listen for what has not been said.
Why bother ? Is all these really worth it? I ask. It is interesting to know that our minds can do much more than we are even aware of . Open-mindedness, an important component of critical thinking might seem like an easy concept until we actually need to practice it. As humans, we often let our biases come into play and some of us are unaware until it is pointed out by the others listening to us. This is the reason we are encouraged to think , learn about thinking ,think the thinking through 😁 and be willing to listen to others.

The Analysis of Business problems course amongst others highlights the role of critical thinking in effective decision making. Making decisions are not easy tasks, alone or in a team, it is something we sometimes wish we could avoid or delegate; knowing that we have alternatives, faced with uncertainties, limited resources and a lot of other determining factors , the ability to make a right decision is extremely crucial . Also, as a leader , a manager or an executive, we always need to make decisions that govern or alter the organisation’s system which is very tasking . Thinking according to defined patterns which is what critical thinking helps to build, allows us to be mostly logical rather than emotional when faced with difficult situations.
This is a very interesting course as everyday I am wondering what next…. The constant emphasis on critically evaluating cases, arguments, clarify thinking, ask questions, identifying problems, identifying bias, weighing credibility of sources all in a bid to make informed judgement or decision; sometimes is exhausting😪🙈 but it is also an eye opener to see the depth of untapped knowledge. The class conversations with brilliant minds are also very enlightening and I enjoy every bit of it.
Sometimes, I get confused, even angry but I understand that it comes with constant use and practice . So I am determined to learn the art of critical thinking, to master the process, to become a better decision maker by careful consideration of pieces of relevant information presented to me.
Analysis of business problem is a course that I have decided to enjoy despite how challenging and demanding it seems, the numerous times I feel lost🤦♀️, I would find myself quickly as I have also realised that there is no waiting😒 . Everything is happening at the same time and I HAVE DECIDED NOT TO BE LEFT BEHIND….. I can not wait to see what the future holds
