On February 25, 2023, Nigerian trooped out to exercise their right by electing the President and vice and Members of the Senate and House of Representatives across the nation. Likewise, on Saturday 18 March 2023, Nigerian gubernatorial elections and together with members of the House assembly will take place. Although some of the states like Osun, Ekiti, Kogi, Bayelsa, Anambra, Ondo, Edo, and Imo have off-season elections. Therefore, the Governorship poll will hold in only 28 states. Meanwhile, the poll in respect of Members of the House of Assembly will hold in the entire 36 states of the country.

Although, the just concluded presidential election recorded the least violence in the country according to some political analysts. The issues of snatching ballot boxes, attack on electoral materials, and attack on INEC (Independent National Electoral Commission) staff among others drastically reduced.
