Dear Serene,
The sight of you hiding behind the evening clouds, shying away from we lowly sapiens rounding off from our day’s work. You are so beautiful, with the rays of you filtering through your embodying firmament and resting on our ignorant tired faces. You remind me of the light at the end of every tunnel, the joy that waits inevitably after every good and credible labor; God’s reminder that he’s close by… smiling at our imperfections.
Then you begin to imagine how creative he is, God! Showing in more ways than not how close and powerful and kind he is to we lowly humans. He thought it nice to shine his light on us for warmth, hope and reassurance of his love for humanity, regardless of if we are deserving of this unprecedented gesture or not.
Well Serene, what powers you?
You are millions of kilometers away from us and yet we can feel your warmth sometimes a little overboard, our fragile skin sometimes even break from being baked by your unhidden prowess which you don’t shy from displaying. Are you made of fire or there is something hotter than fire that constitutes you?
I am sure there are specialists who dedicate their smallest and biggest resources into knowing about you but I wonder if anyone would ever be able to unravel the mysteries you harbor within you.
You are so gracious and full of wonder, times when you are dreaded and everyone scraps for a glimpse of shadow, times when you are the dream come true and your warmth is craved more than oxygen, times when you are the source of the light at the end of the tunnel, times when you have sparked a glimmer of hope to the hopeless, times when you sucked up the pools of erosion so we can have rain again, times you smiled at our folly for complaining about your parching function, times you frowned at our lunatic acts of depleting the ozone layer, times we did not even acknowledge your presence.
You still choose to shine like the sunflower; empower the trees and vegetation around us. You carry such immense power, yet humble as you carry on with your feted duties on humanity.
Thank you for being selfless!
We only complain because of the toils but because you smile on us, we can be rest assured the end of the tunnel is unveiling, and your light will shine again.
It will make sense soonest, all the toil, stress, expectations, heartbreak and wins. Someday, we won’t have to hustle to gain freedom from the blindfold we have been forced to wear all our life, from the unrepentant paranoia that robs us from the glory beyond.
