It was a black Friday in Nigeria on 8th April 2022 especially in the Christian community, when Osinachi Nwanchukwu a popular female Gospel singer was reported dead after a domestic violence was said to have been perpetrated on her by her husband Peter Nwanchukwu.
Then many stories surrounding her demise begin to pop up as it is the custom. I was not very interested in the stories as much as the biblical and moral implications of all that had happened.
So, it was said that it was not the first this act of domestic violence was carried out on her, but she did not want to leave the house because the Bible say she must stay till death separated them. – Well, she has obeyed the scriptures and I hope she is happy where she is right now? Because I do not want to fathom the insanity. Another version said she did not want another woman to take care of her children – now she is gone and the last time I checked her husband is in detention for her death, so where are the beloved children she did not want to leave an abusive marriage for? Who is caring for them now? – the sad result of her actions which she is not here to regret or get a result of is all in play for the world to see.
Well, what does Christendom say about all of this do we allow our women remain in abusive marriages and die do we let them go and remain single bitter women all the rest of their lives These are all tricky questions to ask but the fact remains no one should die a useless death from domestic violence.
Speaking of morality you don’t want to leave a marriage because your parents never divorced that’s an OK moral stand to have but how do you remain in a marriage that hurts? you live in pain, you live in sadness you live in regrets all your life and you still stay because the Bible says don’t divorce and you claim it’s not good for the children it will affect them or you’re your parents didn’t divorce so you can’t divorce I just see it as sickening and sad. Whatever The case may be, domestic violence is a no! No!!, any man or woman that engages in domestic violence should be punished severely as it is the case in most if not all countries around the world.
People should learn to treat others in the way they too want to be treated, treat people nicely and you will be treated nicely,
How the so-called wife beater feels right now post his actions is still a mystery no one can say for sure of because he may say he is sorry for all to hear – since it is what he feels everyone wants to hear; but in the real sense of it, is he really sorry? Well as the saying goes “only God can search and know a man’s heart”
I just hope Osinachi rests in peace, the family she left behind from her children, twin sister, parents and loved ones and even her fans fins consolation in the fact that she has gone to rest from this evil world.
The Decision is Right, but is it Correct?
