There are a lot of things to write about but few words, vast imagination but oddly scanty documentation. It saddens that this phase overwhelms me, apart from the dilemma of boredom and stagnation, there is also the palaver of having information but knowing little about the information.
Just like it is with writing or blogging, it could relate to life itself. Maybe when you want to beckon on a journey but you do not know how to get to where you are going or do not know about the path which you need to take but you get on regardless putting at the back of your mind that what is most important is the first step and then everything else follows.
As you continue, one step after the other or in this case one word after the next, it gets clearer and you begin to realise all you ever needed to make way was the first word, the first step or the first code which then builds up to form sentences, trips and even the world’s greatest software applications.
I once asked a Microsoft Dev friend of mine what it takes to be a great developer and he gave me a profound response, “All it takes is Hello World, the rest is passion”. That statement stood out for me because I was made to understand that all I need to succeed at anything I do is just starting, afraid or not. There will never be the best time to start or do anything, if you wait till you have all the materials or knowledge you need to start a thing, you might be too late to get anything tangible done. When you start with whether you are afraid or not and just drive forward, the drive births curiosity which then exposes you to possibilities and subsequently opportunities which you never thought were in existent before, just because you took the bold step of starting.
I will love to make notable reference to the most powerful book in the world, the Bible, that talks about the kind of spirit we have been given by God; 2 Timothy 1:7 which say “God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power and of love and of a sound mind”. This is a form of encouragement and reassurance for people who believe to start because fear in itself is not a gift from God. What God offers is much stronger and profound which are Power, Love and Sound mind.
Power to start despite the presence of fear, which some people will term as courage; Love to relate with individuals and entities you meet on the way while in the process of doing and finally sound mind for when you need to make significantly critical decisions about the thing you are doing or the journey you are making.
Finally, look for instance at our journey from the beginning of this article to where we are currently, I was having a block head, but I kept on pushing and here we are at the end.
I hope you have picked a thing or two from this journey we embarked on together dear reader!
