Service,the ladder to greatness.

The good book says, “The greatest among you will be your servant” .It also urges us to do this great work with love in our hearts for whoever we choose to bestow this good works on which is of great price .Pa Byrnes is fond of dropping this weighty matters on the children who have little or no use for it and can barely understand any of it whenever we come visiting. I was married into this famous family barely 5 years ago and i can tell you without doubt that i have heard enough words of wisdom to last me a lifetime from Pa Byrnes since we settled into this uptilted land .Appa like the children call him has something in store for the children whenever they come running to him from a treasure hunt or from picking flowers from the meadow as was their routine every evening since we came visiting a week ago. Service means helping someone in need of assistance and good service is being able to tell when people need your help and helping them accordingly .He went on to say that as a growing child you should not wait to be told everything you are supposed to do at every time, it shows your Ma is doing a good job raising you right as she ought.

But as far as wise Pa Byrnes was concerned, no love in service means no reward for service which is no greatness. He told the children that the easiest way to become great in life was to serve others with love in your hearts amongst other things .I was surprised, i mean even i did not know that or dare i say did not understand it as deeply as when Pa Byrnes explained it to the children having come across that scripture a couple of times myself.

Meanwhile, to serve as you should, you have to make yourself available to they folks who might need a favor from you, he continued. You should be kind and humane while at it. Always wear a smile ,your countenance should not scare people away from coming to ask you for help. Be ready to take corrections and improve on your flaws when they are pointed out. Keep an open mind, you never know what you might learn because you will be exposed to things you knew nothing about from the various caliber of men you would be helping .Be of good cheer because i know it will not be easy as you set off to embark on this initially, but it will get better with time. The times are dangerous ,make sure to take nothing from anyone. You are not doing it to get the tangibles ,but the intangibles.

By the time Appa was done talking it seemed like he was ready ready to send the children off to serve one elderly Missus in the planes .Cadi and Cole could hardly wait for him to finish his sermon before they sped off. He called after they children as they were very close to the palisade, “you must cultivate a helping heart if you want to be great, and service is the key .You cannot lead until you have served”.#MMBA5
