THE INCREDIBLE POSSIBILITY OF TEAMWORK: MEMBA 12 GROUP 3

Written by Oluranti Adetoye · 1 min read >

The four courses this semester have offered me an incredibly broad range of content and knowledge, and they were delivered by a faculty of the best brains. However, the best learning resources for me this first semester are my peers, especially my Group 3 members. Whether others are conscious of it or not is another thing. With over 60 executives in my class, who are people with nothing less than 10 years experience in their field of endeavours. That means we’ve got an average of 600 years worth of experience in the MEMBA 12 class – “the immortals”. These experiences provide a fantastic wealth of knowledge at our disposal.

We are still in our forming stage in Group 3, we sometimes bump into one another, have hit arguments, and fight sometimes on how to approach a task. The CFA Capstone assignment was a good example that tested our boundaries.  But, working together, we learnt how to polish our ideas and disagree to agree. We’ve learned to understand our individual abilities and how to leverage one another to make each unit greater.

To all Group 3 members, there is no other way to get through tough tasks, than to challenge our fears and stick together. We have to continue to challenge our limitations and self-doubts and trust the good of the team more than our individual interests. We have to learn to trust more, to fully trust that this is about us. A great team is not all about individuals melting into the team, the power of teamwork is not losing yourself to the singular goal. Great teams don’t lose themselves; they stand up to play their unique part and lighten up the part for one another to flourish.

As we prepare for the first-semester examination and press forward into the next semester, let’s continue to support one another in our preparation. Team works!

Happiness: A Unique Inside Job!
