As a determined lady looking for how to diversify in my career and broaden my horizon. I decided to opt for Lagos Business School. The past few months have been a remarkable journey filled with challenges and valuable experience that has changed how I see business professionally.

Firstly, I was attracted to Lagos Business School for its reputation for excellence. In the course of my profession, I have met some colleagues who graduated from the school, I could tell that they see business in a border view which was quite different from mine.

From the moment I accepted my admission letter from the school, it has been from one learning to the other. The knowledge gained for the past few months has been an eye opener to me. The programme curriculum is designed to be rigorous and all-inclusive covering a wide range of different business courses from Analysis of business problem, Management communication, Corporate financial Accounting to Data Analytics. The courses are taught by experience faculty members who are not just knowledgeable in their respective fields but also passionate about disseminating information.

The learning methods in Lagos Business School are case studies and group projects. This have allowed me to develop a problem-solving skills and decision-making skill as well as tackling business problems from different industries perspectives.

Before LBS, I used to be the type of person who do not separate my emotions when writing an official email. I write most of my message based on emotions and this sends wrong meaning to the receivers and the effect trickles down, causing an undesirable feeling which could be avoided from the beginning. The Management Communication classes, has taught me on how to separate my emotions when communicating either via email or verbally. Also, I have been able to filter my words by eliminating clutters, writing in a concise, simple and complete manner, my use of short hands in writing is gradually fading off and I can tell that my presentation and crisis management skills has improved.

The Analysis of business problem course has broadened my horizon on how to solve real life situation both personal and professionally. Before joining Lagos business School, I was used to solving problems based on my experience with similar issues and the outcomes most times were not commendable. The course has taught me on how to critically identify and analyze problems by basing my analysis on criteria not assumption when making decisions.

Being a security professional, I certainly do not have business with doing numbers as the job was meant for our finance team, but Corporate Financial Accounting has taught me not just how to interpret and analyze financials but also on how to use my analysis to make a professional decision.

In conclusion, as a student I am constantly experiencing transformation as the program kept equipping me with the right knowledge and skills to be a confidence leader. I am certain that the program will completely transform me to a world class leader prepared to solve business problems as they come.

Happiness: A Unique Inside Job!
