A GOVERNMENT IN SUPPORT OF BANNING THE USE OF WEBSITES FOR ASSIGNMENT

Written by OMB · 2 min read >

Innovation is the grease to the wheels of change. But if humans become dormant by not exercising their creative muscles then how can change be constant, that would be a regression.

My name is BB from the government of MMBA4 and today I will be presenting in support of banning websites that do assignments for us

What are these websites? They are commonly referred to as Artificial Intelligence websites which are set to carry out tasks for users who input prompts. In other words, research time has been reduced to prompts.

There are several AI tools and frameworks available, including Scikit Learn, TensorFlow, Caffe, and PyTorch. Additionally, there are AI chatbots which are extremely popular like ChatGPT. Then there are AI art generators like MidJourney and Stable Diffusion, AI copywriting tools like Moonbeam. The list is endless

Why do we seek to ban their use?

Innovation is the grease to the wheels of change and the use of artificial intelligence for assignments hampers the innovative mind; it disrupts the development of an innovative mind in several ways. And this would be the first point.

People who rely on these websites to do their assignments miss out on the opportunity to engage in the process of problem-solving which is essential for developing an innovative mind. We are not challenged to think beyond the standard solutions and approaches which prevents us from exploring new perspectives. An innovative mind requires a willingness to take risks, experiment, and learn from mistakes, however the use of these websites stops this from happening.

The second point is that It promotes dishonesty and fraud of pandering another’s work as yours. It goes against the principles of learning, which emphasize the importance of hard work, critical thinking, research and problem-solving skills. People who use these websites are not learning anything and are not acquiring the skills they need to succeed in their academic and professional careers.

The third point is that it undermines the value of education: why is education valuable? It is valuable because it provides us with the knowledge and skills we need to succeed in life irrespective of fields of study. Websites that do assignments undermine the value of education by making it possible for students to obtain degrees and qualifications without putting in the necessary effort. Imagine 4 years without learning anything.

The fourth point is that it is unfair to others who put in the work. When some people are using websites that do their assignments for them, it puts others at a disadvantage with research being just minutes with prompts. People who work hard to complete their assignments are unfairly competing with those who are using websites to cheat their way through their coursework and projects. It is not ethical.

The fifth point is that it can have long-term consequences as noted earlier, it limits the process of critical thinking. People who rely on websites to do their assignments for them miss out on the opportunity to develop their time management and team work skills which are essential for success in any future careers as leaders. The essential processes of the analysis of business problems is eradicated.

Websites that do our assignments for us can hinder the development of an innovative mind by preventing us from engaging in problem-solving, and creative exploration. It is essential to ban these websites to ensure that we have the opportunity to develop the skills we need to become innovative thinkers and problem solvers.

In conclusion, banning websites that do our assignments promote integrity in the quality of wishing to do one’s work or duty well and thoroughly. It promotes conscientiousness.

We are not opposed to tools that aid our learning, we are opposed to tools that eradicate our learning
