Back to life and back to reality with another beautiful afternoon at the Lagos Business School (LBS).Guess what? It’s a Goooooal! With a thunderous noise and a resounding clap by our opponent during the Lagos Business School(LBS) Annual Dean Football Competition because they just scored their first goal against EMBA28 Football Team that I am a captain of the side.
Prior to the Football Match have few weeks ago, the executive MBA 28 cohort were engaged online by the Lagos Business School Sport Director informing us about the football competition ground rules as stated below:
Soft tackle – Attracts Yellow card, with three warning earlier before the yellow card will be issued. The red card will be issued for a hard tackle or back to back soft tackle with two Yellow cards and a red card. We were informed that the match takes an hour; First Half will tends to be thirty minutes and Second Half thirty Minutes respectively. Also, we were informed to get Eleven Players and Six Substitute for a total of Seventeen Players in EMBA28 and we are informed about liberty to Sponsor the Football Competition event as a group EMBA28, Companies or Individual sponsorship, while we expect some ladies interested in Volley ball to extend expression of interest showcase interest or support the group EMBA28 Football Team as cheerleaders.
I am sure that everyone wants to be fit for purpose at the pitch when the real game started. Unfortunately, we do not have a reserve player on bench but playing with eleven players until we got three more Players to assist upon another Goal that we scored to Equlaize the first Goal and The moral of Our Supports increase. This, does not just come with the snap of a finger for me to come back, Play a certain opposition and shoot to specifics while we have the striker deliver into the opposition net but we worked for it by having another Game Plan after quick appraisal on the pitch to know who Is who…..
The match end up as 1-1 draw at first Half and same match produce another 2 goals in second half , the opponent score and we equalize again.
Part of the Lesson learnt and our experience is that we have to work out regularly and improve our stamina. If we are quite unfit at the beginning, it will take a lot of pain on our part to improve our physical fitness—if running the extra few metres will make us fit, we will go for it! Also, we are inflexible for our age and we want to be more flexible to play good football at this competition, the best way to do that is to stretch. Yes, it might hurt at first and yes, it is painful, but we will be able to do a lot more and improve our physical fitness by being flexible. We might be asking: What’s the gain? The gain is that we will score more and win the Lagos Business School (LBS) Deans Cup and we will be fit for purpose. The Good exercise will make us happier throughout the day, improving our look, inside and out, helping us to concentrate better, making us to sleep longer as well as drastically improving our health, reducing the risk of getting diseases such as cancer, and making us live longer.
Wow, that is a lot of gain! That is why pain is worth during training , Just imagine if we never exercised at all, never ran that extra few metres, and never stretched!
We would be overweight, moody, and at the risk of getting major diseases (among many other reasons). I would much rather be partaker of good exercise to enjoy the benefits and score more GOAL in life than conceding a defeat Goal like EMBA28 did in early First half.
