Will the world accept the fact that a father’s love is as important as a mother’s love? Of course, mother’s love that runs so deep across the years and is widely celebrated while that of the father is often neglected. Most male experience this phenomenon when they hold their child, they feel the rush of compassion and empathy, this encloses them.
Love, they say, is the greatest and the Holy Scriptures made us understand that Love is God (1John 4:7-12). Love is described as an intense feeling fuelled by intimacy, passion, and even commitment. It can be seen in different ways as closeness, one being protective; being attracted, have a deep affection for someone or a thing, and giving your trust.
In our world, Love is used every day and countless individual have interpreted this in their own way, removing the core from the word. In the English Language, it can be expressed as either a verb, “an action word”, or as a noun.
Proceeding to the subject of discussion, “The Father’s Love”, it is one attribute every child and even adult attest to that, it is very important in the proper development of any individual on the earth. Some school of thought would disagree with me, but, a father’s place and his love are crucial to the overall development of a child. These experiences metamorphose into lifelong learnings and forms a bedrock for the next generation.
Here is a story to illustrate my point: Many fathers would always want their children to remember the love they share rather than the monetary value they provide. Father’s love comes in different forms, such as paying attention to their children’s requests and needs, being for them in difficult times and providing guidance and support. I remembered a time when things weren’t working out, I had to rely on my dad’s shoulders to pull through that phase.
Damilola Mike-Bamiloye shared a thought-provoking scenario on the Father’s Love using a scriptural reference from the bible, John3:16 NIV, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”, I felt compelled to relate our earthly father; his love and care, to the Almighty, who went all out just to restore the broken relationship we have with him.
This has been the crux of the Christian faith, Love, so pure and filling. It redeems and librates anyone who comes to him sincerely.
A father’s love is pure just like the mother, though he did not carry the foetus, but he has his contribution in both genetic material and his attention to the child. This can’t be replaced, just like its counterpart, Mother’s Love, but it tends to amplify the latter since this love creates a balance environment for the latter and even for individuals in a family to shine.
I respect folks outside, giving their all to their wards and people under them, striving to be a good fathers and role models. I’m sure these won’t go unnoticed. Finally, I admonish everyone to allow love to flow unrestricted from their hearts without a negative purpose, just like the Almighty.
Love and Light.
