It has been established in the previous publication the importance of effective business communication”, and various channels of communication. It is therefore imperative to look at the need of effective business communication in the quest for business sustainability.

 Effective communication in central to employee engagement. Since employee are often tagged as the most vital in business, it is important to use the communication tool to foster commitment to work. Effective business communication can tremendously improve employee productivity. When employees don’t feel as if they are being led with clarity and guidance, it can have a negative impact. Businesses are required to invest in continuous training of their employee especially on the importance of managers engaging one another, if not, information can be distorted in transit, causing avoidable mistakes. Overall, when business communication is successfully present in a business, employee engagement can improve.

Closely related to passing messages by managers to other employee in the organization, effective business sustainability, this is due to the length of time an average worker spend in the work communication also foster ‘Team Building’. Strong relationship with coworkers is very essential in business place. Communication helps employee to have sense of belonging, it strengthens the bonds between colleagues and enhances team building. Therefore, communication needs to be kept high to ensure relationships are strong within an organization.

Regardless of the business model an organization is running, it is extremely important that the customers are happy. “The customer is the king”. Effective communication is important in making king out of customers. Customer relations are vital for any business.  Communication can help to boost customer relationships especially in dealing with complaints and concerns of the customers.  If customer is satisfy, there is likelihood that such customer would recommend the organization to someone else, and this eventually add to the organization profitability.  

Achieving Business goals and objectives is another reason why businesses need effective business communication skills.  When employees are consistently briefed on business goals, they have a better idea of what they need to do to achieving it. 

Communicating with employees also ensures that they’re working well together. Business manager can:

  • Monitor team members to stay on track with projects
  • Update the team in the event of changes in the tasks
  • Ensure employees understand the work they are doing
  • Help timely delivery of projects

Transparency in business communication always ensure positive company culture. When organisation create a culture of effective communication, it cascades to future employees. Future employee will be aware of this during their onboarding. That way, organisation maintain health culture and shared this values every time a new employee is recruited to the organisation.
