So……..it’s a parody.
I have a love-hate relationship with my country. One minute I love everything about it and the next, disappointment.
A few weeks out of town and you are missing it all. A few months in and you are drained.
The social life and parties are fun. People are kind and caring, sometimes. The chaos challenging. A delicate and paradoxical mix. At this point I’m convinced you can’t have it all.
Everything happens for a reason and we must take the good with the bad…as well as the ugly. I’ve learnt to manage my expectations.
Driving on the streets of Lagos is a nightmare! I have come to the sad realisation that people no longer know right from wrong. Some people carry on without have consideration for others.
Still we can do a lot better. And we must all play our part for us to make the change we want and deserve. We must realise that life is all about “live and let live”. We are all different and must try and accept each other for who we are. Our diversity contributes immensely to our greatness so we must use it to our advantage and lift each other up rather than bringing ourselves down. I believe the world would be a better place if we all obey this quote ” do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.
We all must work together to make our country work for us and generations to come.
