Ever since our declaration of independence from Great Britain, Nigeria as it was formed as a nation with the amalgamation of various tribes has yet to begin functioning cohesively, with all its parts cooperating to form one unit.
Asides the mistrust for one another amongst the tribes there has been a failure of a visionary government. Every ruler from the military to the civilian era has failed to deliver on their campaign promises except perhaps Good luck Jonathan who’s tenure war blessed with economic strength. The next and current administration were only concerned with recieving power at all costs and not saving the country from decline at all costs, so if course politicians as usual created lies for promises and now we are at this point in time which can be referred to as the worst times ever in Nigeria’s history, surpassing the second most terrible time by a great margin, which was also run by the current President Muhammadu Buhari. It was clear to all from his first time as military president he was not fit for the job and lacked the understanding and intelligence needed to succeed in that position. Today we have the worst economy we have ever had, the greatest foreign debt ever and the lowest the value of the Naira has been in the foreign exchange market. Many people have given up hope stating that the corrupt politicians have established themselves in positions of leadership that no matter who rules there would still be a lot of deceit and corruption to contend with and our resources will continue to be stolen into the hands of the 1%.
People like to say that it is easier to watch and criticize the president than to run the country better if given the opportunity and they ask what we would do that will change Nigeria for the better.
Firstly, I would seek to reform our vehicle of governance, by causing the fresh election of civil servants that will serve the country as senators and congressmen in the house of reps to the judiciary with each arm possessing enough power to undermine the other and stall the progress of the nation. I would declare fresh elections and also embark on a robust media campaign against corruption favouritism and nepotism and will seek to educate even the lowest of the masses about their rights and how they have been deprived of it by their own hands and ways of thinking. Finally I will have a government that is more trusted globally and much less corrupt and functional despite the complaints of various politicians stripped of power and their cronies that will no longer be recieving the trickle down of embezzled funds. I will also create a law with the assistance of the new Judiciary and Senate setting a mandatory retirement from public service from age 65, this will prevent parties from believing they can monopolize the presidency in the future.
Next thing I will do will be to set up mechanisms from electronic to physical means of accounting for resources and their usage pinpointing the exact time and place and person in possession of missing funds from the system.
I will not declare the remainder of my strategy to prevent it being reproduced illegally
