Have you ever wondered how many holes a net has? I’m not sure, so don’t think I was going to mention it in my piece. There is a connection between all of the holes that hold an item firm and prevent it from breaking.
The Lagos Business School offers more than just lectures; there is also the opportunity to network. Networking is the informal exchange of information and ideas among people who share a common profession or special interest. It is also the act of contacting and exchanging information with other people, groups, and institutions to develop mutually beneficial relationships, or it is the act of accessing and sharing information between computers.
Networking can occur anywhere, but it is most common in an informal setting such as a cocktail event, luncheon, or road walk, among other things. People hand out their complimentary cards at these events, while others exchange phone numbers.
We must take advantage of social events, particularly those designed to foster business collaborations and bring together prospective employers and talented individuals seeking new employment opportunities or advantageous business proposals.
Opportunities created by Lagos Business School for the Energy Sector took place at the institute on October 29, 2022. The calibre of people that attended the session was impressive. This institute organizes these forums on a regular basis. Some people believe that meeting prestigious people can only happen in nightclubs. Yes, it is correct, but it is not entirely correct. Lagos Business School has a large networking society that is constantly expanding.
I’ve had the opportunity to meet individuals whom I’d only seen in a newspaper advertisement or on television and radio giving various talks, stating their contribution to a specific topic, or sharing their success story.
It is not possible to attend these events and then return home in the same manner. There must be a distinct shift in your business or career. Learning from others who have a wealth of business knowledge to share altered my perspective of the business world. It’s also beneficial because I get to apply what I’ve learnt and see a significant improvement in my company.
Another advantage of networking is that it allows for one-on-one discussions with people who have a common interest in moving their business or career forward. Participation is essential when networking, and you must be prepared to seize the moment because time waits for no man.
Creating or incorporating networking into Lagos Business School’s various MBA programs is part of the school’s success story. All of those who have used this forum have had positive experiences.
We have mentors who guide us and give us advice for business or career growth or change as we build business relationships. Most mentors meet with their mentees on a regular basis. They want to be held accountable and follow through on business proposals discussed at the previous meeting.
Today, I look for networking events and do not mind because I have seen the benefits it has brought to my career and business. “Na who want something, his hand dey long pass,” my people say, implying that it is the individual’s responsibility to seek it. I hope to achieve even more because my success story has only just begun.
