Winning is not automatic.

Once the desire to win has been identified, you need to change you mindset by confronting your fears,

embracing change, learning new skills and learning new habits. You cannot advance beyond your mindset because how you think will always be the cap of how far you can go.

In winning, you must not lose your essence.

To enlighten us on how we can win as professional, I separated my writing into 3 level; The early career, Mid-level and C-suite

Early Career

This is the stage where you need to bite more than you can chew.

Learn! Learn! Learn!

Mid-Career

Learning never gets out of style. Always put your hands up for responsibility.

In this stages, you learn to speak up, share your views and contribute to decision making irrespective of your personality type. You also need to learn how to relate with people, respect people and work with people. Learn to leverage on peoples skills.

When a door of opportunities opens, walk through it. If you walk through that door, you expose yourself to new relationships, countries, integration and challenges.

This is a transition stage

Embrace it.

Embrace change.

Learn from your bad experience and challenges. Don’t allow a problem to immobilize you

Get quality support. Build relationships that would help you in challenging time.

At this stage you need to master stakeholder management

C-suite Level

Ensure that you are adhering to sound government policy.

Know when it’s time to leave and leave when the ovation is loudest.

Don’t leave in a crisis. Have succession plan and leave a competent team.

Leave with relationships intact

Finally, It’s important never to lose sight of the fact that we are where we are by the grace of God.

Let your faith ground you in wanting to do the right thing. Retire without blemish and your integrity in tact.

The journey is more important than the destination.

Who you are is more important than where you are.
