A STRANGER TO LOVE

Isn’t it funny how a person who was once only a stranger to you suddenly means the world to you?

Life is indeed a journey. In the pursuit of our dreams and aspirations, we meet a lot of people daily. Sometimes, we see these people again and other times we don’t. Some of these people are strangers today and lovers tomorrow. Sometimes, we meet people on a very bad note, and they eventually become good friends. Life has a way of shuffling people down your path leading you to develop some sort of connection with them.

EXCITEMENT ON SEEING DEOLA

It was a hot Saturday afternoon, on my cozy bed listening to some Rihanna’s album and singing with my melodious voice, suddenly, there was a loud ring on my phone, one which continued for some time. I looked at the missed calls and it was from my friend Deola. Dee landed in Ilorin and needed me to pick her up from the airport. I was so tired and not prepared for the long drive to the airport but didn’t want to keep her waiting, so I hurried down, wore my slippers, and started my journey to the airport. The traffic was crazy on this day, so I called Dee and arranged that we meet me up at a mall which wasn’t so far from my side. The other lane seemed free so it was easier for Dee to get to the mall faster than making an arrangement of picking her up.

THE MALL EXPERIENCE

I met Dee at the mall, and we just couldn’t hide our excitement. Our meeting had fond expressions and memories of old times, going from big hugs to talking about how excited we were to see each other again while forgetting that we were by the door and were obstructing the entrance to the mall. What brought us back to the consciousness of our environment was the presence of a huge man who looked and sounded upset. He was rude and just wanted us out of the way. At that point, we were apologetic about it, but he didn’t seem to care about it. He pushed Dee from the way and kept on causing a scene about the whole issue. I was lost and didn’t know why he was that angry even though we didn’t use hours on the spot. Dee was so pissed that she resorted to talking back at the guy. In the heat of the moment, a tall, handsome and stunning looking young man walked past us and walked up to the man. I stood at a corner analyzing the whole situation and wondered who this Mr. nice man was. Honestly, it felt like a movie!

COULD THIS BE LOVE?

I wondered if the situation would to turn into a love story with my friend and Mr. nice man as the main characters. After the whole situation calmed down, I went into the car and waited for Dee for more than an hour. I sat in the car and watched them from a distance, and I could tell there was a connection… Could this be the beginning of Dee’s love story? Hmmmmmm…..
