Most of the success people in the world today are known to be great speakers in other to speak and have a group of people or someone listen to you one must be a great speaker. Public speaking is seen as a skill by many while see it as a talent, to become a dynamic speaker one must learn to feel comfortable on the stage and be focused. I for instance during my presentations or when ask to deliver a short pitch finds it hard to face the audience, I always must practice but I still find it hard to have that self-confidence, that’s why most times I agree with people that say public speaking is a talent.

Qualities of a Good Public Speaker.

Confidence –this is the key factorof public speaking a good speaker should have self confidence in other to show his audience that he is aware of what he is talking about, he should also show sings that he is an expert in that field while communicating.  Confidence makes you credible, knowledgeable, and believable. To truly show confidence, you must be confident enough to be yourself during your presentation. If you can be yourself in front of an audience, they are going to be more likely to feel like they can relate to you. If you try to act differently than you usually do, you may come off as insincere, and the audience will be less likely to feel connected to you or your information.

Passion- as a good public speaker you should be able to show passion and love for the topic you are talking to your audience about, you make them see that you love what you are talking to them about by maintain good eye contact showing them signs that you truly know what you are saying.

Ability to tell stories – as a good speaker you should be able to tell stories while speaking so what you are talking about those do not get boring or feel like a presentation to your audience. Give your audience examples on the topic you are speaking about then just telling them raw fact, give them examples to use for memories in other to differenate you from other speakers they might have listen too. An effective speaker should be about to shar experiences on how the topic has brought him this far if not him but other people in the past these could serve as a means to keep the audience engaged.

Ability to be succinct. Even if you’re one of the most entertaining and engaging public speakers, it’s important to keep your presentation short and to the point. The attention span of your audience isn’t long. You must get their attention fast and keep their attention by moving through your presentation smoothly and effectively. If your presentation is longer than twenty minutes, you may want to consider breaking the presentation into smaller segments. Each segment can be a little different or involve audience interaction so that you are keeping them on their feet.

Demonstrating this attitude as a great speaker can neither break or make your presentation and applying all this to our daily presentations would only improve our skills as public speakers.

Happiness: A Unique Inside Job!
